SUPERCROSS ROUND 13 / APRIL 9, 2016 INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA / LUCAS OIL STADIUM P86 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES 41 TREY CANARD 4TH 450SX Prior to the start of the season, Honda's Trey Canard had to be considered a favorite to challenge for the championship just in terms of his raw speed alone, but it hasn't exactly worked out that way. He has been finishing better and better, though, and has even won a few heat races, showing that he still has the speed. Indianapolis marked his best finish of the season, with fourth place. "Obviously, I'm happy to get my best finish of the year, but I'm still disappointed to not be on the podium," Canard said. "All the guys at Honda HRC did a great job, and we made good adjustments and made it through this track, and it was a really tough track." 377 CHRISTOPHE POURCEL 7TH 450SX Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Christophe Pourcel missed three races due to an injury, but he returned to action in Indianapolis and promptly set the fast- est qualifying time for the 450cc class and then achieved his best main-event finish of the year de- spite a huge crash in his heat race. "I want to show the team that I can be in front, but my neck is still a little sore," Pourcel said. "I just stalled the bike in the heat and went over the bars pretty hard. I had a lot of pain in my ribs. I had a good start in the main. If you believe in yourself and think you're going to do well you can get a start from anywhere. It feels good to finally start in the front. I had a couple good laps with the guys up front, then decided to take it easy because the track is rough and I was pretty beat up. I'm mad because I crashed, but I just wanted to stay on two wheels and take it easy because it was my first race back. I'm happy to finish seventh." 61 GANNON AUDETTE 3RD 250SX Gannon Audette had been steadily improving on his Legends and Heroes Tour-backed Kissim- mee Motorsports Kawasaki, with an eighth and a sixth in the two rounds prior to Indianapolis. So when the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team needed a fill-in, they picked him up, and he rewarded the team with its first podium of the 250SX East in his first race on the team. "Today was awesome," Audette said. "The track was really fun tonight and I finished seventh in my heat race. I ended up starting pretty far outside on the gate, but my Kawasaki hooked up great and I ended up getting the holeshot. I put in 15 solid laps and ended up with a podium. It was an awesome weekend."
