happy for the team. To sweep
the weekend, first and second
in qualifying and both races, is a
great feeling."
It was a torrid weekend for the
reigning MotoAmerica Superbike
Champion, Monster Energy/
Graves/Yamaha rider Cameron
Beaubier, who crashed out of
the lead early in race one and
ran off the track when a mysteri-
ous brake issue afflicted him at
turn 11. He fought back to finish
fourth but wasn't best pleased
with his weekend.
Beaubier's teammate in the
Graves pit, former champion
Josh Hayes, lamented a slow
start to the restarted sprint race
on Saturday and simply didn't
have the pace to run with the
two Yoshimura Suzukis in race
two. He started strong in both
encounters but slowly dropped
back in race two to pick up a
pair of third place finishes. Still,
the result was better than his
teammate's.
Fourth in Superbike overall for
the weekend went to Broaster
Chicken Roadrace Factory
Yamaha's Jake Gagne, who
showed impressive speed in
race one to be sitting second
when the red flag came out. He
eventually finished fourth, but
dropped to eighth in race two
behind a gaggle of Superstock
machines.
