SUPERCROSS ROUND 12 / APRIL 2, 2016 LEVI'S STADIUM / SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA P90 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES My Own Race: 16 ZACH OSBORNE 2 ND 250SX Zach Osborne came within three laps of getting his first supercross win of his career. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team rider had a great night, except for a hard crash in practice, after winning his heat race and then leading the first 11 laps of the 250SX West main before giving way to Cooper Webb. Osborne went on to finish out the night in second. "I had an interesting day," said Osborne. "I had a big crash in the second practice, but got off to a good start in the heat race, passed into the lead pretty quickly and won. I got the holeshot in the main, led 11 laps, and got second. It was a good day, and I was close to winning. The track was pretty basic today, but it almost had to be because the dirt was so sketchy. I'm not disappointed." 37 JOEY SAVATGY 3 RD 250SX Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Joey Savatgy came into the Santa Clara supercross trailing Cooper Webb by 11 points and was hop- ing to gain at least few points on the championship leader to keep the title chase alive, but he ended up giving up five points. He was not happy about but tried to look at the positives. "The main event, all-in-all it was good," said Sa- vatgy. "After a rough start I tried to put in a solid 15 laps. We moved our way forward and in the middle I started to catch the two riders ahead of me and really closed the gap. Unfortunately, a couple of lappers held me up and it didn't help my push towards the front. I'm leaving Santa Clara on my own two feet and scored some good cham- pionship points. Now it's time to keep the ball rolling, keep pushing and come out swinging at Las Vegas." 35 CHRIS ALLDREDGE 14 TH 250SX Chris Alldredge put his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki up front at times but just wasn't the All- dredge we all know after crashing hard during practice when he endoed in the whoops. He was actually lucky to walk away from that one. Alldredge went on to finish fourth in his heat race after getting a second-place start. A 15th-place start in the main resulted in a 14th-place finish. "I quali- fied fourth out of my heat race today, which I was happy with," said Alldredge. "The main event did not go how I wanted it to, but my crash from practice this morning left me sore. It was difficult to keep my normal pace with everything that happened, but I pushed as hard as I was able to. It's not the result I wanted, but I'll keep after it and come back strong at the next round." 38 CHRISTIAN CRAIG 4TH 250SX GEICO Honda's Christian Craig was looking strong all day and was hoping to get on the podium and maybe come away with a win to keep his title hopes alive. A bad start in the main event, however, ended all that. He still had a remarkable ride by coming up from the back of the pack to finish fourth! It was his seventh straight top-five finish. "[I] felt good in practice, the bike felt awesome, and I ended up second in qualifying," he said. "I got second in the heat, but got off to a terrible start in the main—toward the tail of the whole field. I tried to make as many passes as I could. I was aggressive, got up to fourth, [but] third was pretty far ahead by then. I tried to close the gap, but unfortunately I got pretty tight toward the end and couldn't close it enough. Obviously we want more, but I'll take a fourth, it could have been much worse."
