ed to being the first rider
in supercross history to have a
victory stripped away because of
a penalty by coming right back
and winning again, this time at
Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara,
California.
After his very controversial
passing-on-the-red-cross-flag
infraction and subsequent two-
position penalty, which cost
him the win at the previous
round in Detroit, the Red Bull
KTM rider shook it all off and
came right back and dished
out one of his best perfor-
mances of the season, scor-
ing a near-perfect wire-to-wire
win—his sixth success of the
season—despite strong opposi-
tion from two-time 2016 winner
Ken Roczen. The win added
another three points to his
already substantial points lead
over the RCH/Soaring Eagle/
