CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "How bizarre, how bizarre. It's hard to even look at this as an official GP round given everything that happened." Confederate P51 Fighter Combat Alan Cathcart's review of Con- federate Motors P51 Fighter— excellent! Juan Mesa Throwback Thursday: Dirt Track Duffers It was a rough racetrack that race! [Denver Gold Cup.] We lived 20 minutes from the track and it was the Adams County fairgrounds that I race my first ever dirt track race in 1972. It was 5/8 th -mile and I burned up my Hodaka Super Rat! Later we would run local short track races there. It was a treat to have the AMA bring a National there. Great Throwback! Eddie Baldizan Guy Martin Wall Of Death Just Guy being Guy! Doing what he likes. Go Coffee Energy Argentina MotoGP How bizarre, how bizarre. It's hard to even look at this as an official GP round given every- thing that happened. Marquez rode a brilliant race, and Ros- si—once he had confidence in his second bike—hung in there. Could his smile have been any bigger in pit row? I can't even begin to imagine the atmosphere in the Ducati garage. While I had my reserva- tions about Dovi being a con- tender, he has been putting in a solid performance and would be second in points until the Nightmare on Iannone Street occurred. What a stupid, stupid risk/decision on his part. I'm not sure there is an agent that can save his career going for- ward from here. Lorenzo falls? Vinales falls? Laverty fourth? Wow. Bob Close New School Cycle News I miss the excitement of open- ing the mailbox and seeing the latest issue of Cycle News, but everything changes. I'm at least glad you're back in some fashion. As I now elec- tronically flip pages I remember what I was missing—excellent articles and news on every fac- et of motorcycles in one place. It's a one-stop shop that keeps me informed. I read the Racer X site religiously (that's how I found you guys were back) but I don't have the ambition to search website after website to get the latest on anything beyond moto or GNCC. Your recent issues have renewed my interest in MotoGP, road racing in the U.S., and others I'd long ago given up following. I'll be asking the kids now for some time on their tablet weekly! Even more impressive you're doing it with a pretty small staff. I respect that and that passion that you must have to make it all come together every week, so enthusiasts like me can just click a link and have the entire motorcycle world in front of us. I appreciate you bringing it all back to one format. Thanks again and keep up the fantastic work!! Jason Mertz Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com.
