VICTORY CONFIRMS 2016 PIKES PEAK ENTRY
V
ictory will be back at the
2016 Pikes Peak Internation-
al Hill Climb with their Project 156
machine and their Empulse RR
electric machine in a two-rider
attack on the mountain.
Former Rookie of the Year
and 2014 Open-class winner
Jeremy Toye will pilot the Project
156 machine in the Exhibition
class with Cycle World Road
Test Editor Don Canet (last
year's 156 rider) riding the Em-
pulse RR in the Electric class.
"We are eager to bring the
Victory Racing team back to
Pikes Peak this year to help
celebrate the 100th Anniversary
of the Race to the Clouds," said
Director of Marketing for Vic-
tory Motorcycles, Alex Hultgren.
"One way Victory lives and
breathes Modern American
Muscle is by continuously push-
ing ourselves through our per-
formance and racing initiatives
and since Pikes Peak is argu-
ably the most challenging race
in America, it's exactly where we
need to be." CN
WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HONDA'S DCT?
Honda has just launched a funky interactive website dedicated to their semi-automatic Dual Clutch
Transmission (DCT) system. The DCT system, first launched on the VFR1200F back in 2010, now
adorns the VFR1200X Crosstourer,
CRF1000L Africa Twin, NM4 Vultus,
NC750X/NC750S, the CTX700/CTX700N
middleweight cruisers, and the Integra
maxi scooter, and is rumored to being
prepped for the sportbike debut in the
new-for-2017 CBR1000RR, in what would
be a first for the category.
The technical DTC information on the
website is limited at best, but it still gives
you an idea of how the system works.
Plus, they've released a fairly tacky/ro-
manticized video you can view here. CN
Victory will be out to
erase memories of
last year's DNF for the
prototype Project 156
machine.
