IN
THE
WIND
P22
was waning to the point of burn-
ing out by crashing out of race
one. He was unhurt. In race two
he finished seventh, 20 seconds
off the win. He said his bike felt
different this weekend, with less
confidence in the front.
On a hard weekend for the of-
ficial Honda team, Nicky Hayden
(Honda World Superbike Team)
was first sixth in race one, then
any hopes of a stronger race two
ended with a brake problems on
the front, and the vibrations got
so bad he had to retire.
"I got a decent start to race
one and caught up to Giugliano
and I was going to at least get
a top-five but I ran into a little
problem," Hayden said. "I used
up the front tire a little too much.
I kinda learned something.
"In race two on the warm-
up lap I had the problem and I
signaled to the guys on the grid.
I was not sure if I should come
in and change tires to see if it
would be better. I thought I may
as well start the race and maybe
it is something stuck on the pad
or disc that would burn of in a
couple of laps. But it just got
worse and worse and I just had
to come in as there was no point
staying out if I couldn't brake.
It's disappointing because we
changed something for today
that would allow me to do the full
distance and now really I learned
nothing."
Alex De Angelis scored eighth
in race two for IodaRacing
Aprilia.
Superpole front row qualifiers
Sylvain Guintoli and Alex Lowes
(Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK
Team) finished inside the top
ten each time, but well off their
qualifying pace.
Rea still leads overall with
131 points, Davies has 105 and
Sykes 102. Next round is in As-
sen, with races on April 16-17.

races but Rea (right) wasn't best
pleased about being beaten by
his teammate Sykes (left).
