IN THE WIND P30 "I had a bad start putting my- self in 15th place," Nagl said. "I don't know what happened. I really wanted to be on the overall podium, for myself and for the team, so I kept pushing hard un- til the end of that second race. I'm really happy I ended on the podium. If I could get another good start in moto two, I'm sure I could have fought for the overall win." Nagl ended up working his way up to fourth place by the end of the moto, and collected a runner-up finish with his 2-4 overall score. It was a decidedly good weekend for Nagl and the Husqvarna team. Gajser's and Nagl's mis- fortunes in the second moto spelled an advantage for Febvre, who harnessed his frustration in the first moto for a performance that was nothing short of spec- tacular. In a real race-within-a- race Febvre went head-to-head with Cairoli in a battle that went down to the final lap. It was then the defending champion put the pass on Cairoli to take the win and the overall. "I had a small crash in the sec- ond moto and lost some time but no positions," Febvre explained, "and then I finally found the missing rhythm and tried to race to the finish for the lead. In the last lap I found Cairoli ahead of me and did everything I could to pass him and take the victory." Cairoli had to settle for second in the moto, and fourth overall with his 7-2 score. Febvre's fac- tory Yamaha teammate Jeremy van Horebeek rounded out the top-five with his 4-3 tally in Valkenswaard. In the MX2 division, it was, once again, Jeffrey Herlings who stole the spotlight. In a domi- nant 1-1 finish over Pauls Jonass (2-2). It was a poignant victory for Herlings, who celebrated the milestone of his 50th career GP win. Herlings, who took his first- ever grand prix win in 2010 at Valkenswaard at 15 years of age, has never been beaten at the Dutch track. The Flying Dutch- man was proud to take his 50th win in front of his home crowd. "To win 50 grand prix is some- thing special," Herlings said. "It's like your first then 10, then 50… then 100!" His Red Bull KTM team- mate Pauls Jonass was happy to collect the runner-up finish in the MX2 division with a solid 2-2 performance. Team Suzuki World racer Jeremy Seewer collected third for a meaningful podium finish—one that may as well have been a victory for the Swiss rider. "I have been on the podium a few times now, but for me this one is an emotional one," said Seewer. "To do it in the sand as a Swiss rider was something really important to me especially after last year I was not so good here, Even in years before I couldn't even qualify in the sand in the European Cham- pionship on an 85. I have really worked hard and it's starting to be all right now." The FIM Motocross World Championship now moves on to the GP of Patagonia Argentina in two weeks' time.
