WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 53 ISSUE 11 MARCH 22, 2016 P59
Ryan passed, the flagger stepped further out
onto the track.
"For the future we will push them to have
the red cross flaggers wave more aggressively
to be clearly seen," added DeCoster. "It's a
shame that Ryan was penalized for something
that he gained nothing from in the race."
If there's any sort of justice in a situation
like this, it's that it was none other than Jason
Anderson—the victim of the AMA/FIM's first
such ruling this season—who was awarded the
win, after he inherited second place in the main
event with two to go when Musquin had a tip
over.
The win would've been Dungey's 28th of his
career, tying him all-time with Ricky Johnson,
but now that will have to wait at least two weeks
for the series to head to Santa Clara.
