win apiece in Thailand for
the KRT duo of Jonathan
Rea and Tom Sykes, at round
two of the FIM World Superbike
Championship at the Chang
International Circuit in Buriram,
and a second place for each
rider in the other race, makes
this sound like a harmonious
two-day contest of give and take
between teammates.
On track at least it was full on,
full push, with the final laps of
race two in particular a demon-
stration of how much each rider
wanted to win.
After the second race, in
which Tom Sykes used his skills
and a lot of defensive aggres-
sion to keep Rea behind—after
losing the first race on Saturday
by just 0.222 seconds—Rea was
less than happy.
He was also clearly con-
flicted, as he simultaneously
praised Sykes for his riding
ability, even in the final few laps
when he was also not pleased
with some of Sykes' blocking
tactics in the second 20-lapper.
On day one Rea had been the
one to employ some blocking
tactics to get past a fast team-
It was this close all
weekend, with both
Kawasaki riders coming
away with victories.
