HUNGRY FOR HOLESHOTS
Starts are absolutely killing RCH Suzuki's Ken
Roczen. Through the first nine races of the
series, this is what his beginning and ending
stats look like:
Anaheim 1: 17th on lap one, finished fifth.
San Diego: sixth on lap one, crashed on
lap five while in third, finished sixth.
Anaheim 2: ninth on lap one, finished third.
Oakland: third on lap one, finished second.
Glendale: grabbed the holeshot, won.
San Diego 2: fourth on lap one, finished third.
Arlington: second on lap one, won.
Atlanta: 16th on lap one, finished sixth.
Daytona: 10th on lap one, finished fifth.
The 39 points that Roczen now trails former
teammate Ryan Dungey by are almost entirely
due to the difference between his and
Dungey's main-event starts. At the end of this
championship, it may be that the title was
won out of the gate.
