CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Dungey was able to stay with Roczen and stay smooth, while Kenny had to hang it out to win." Eli Tomac Don't worry race fans. Eli Tomac will be back in force for the outdoor Nationals. Bet on it. Jim Bensberg Trey Canard Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of Trey Canard's biggest problems involved other riders landing on top of him. So many riders have landed on him that his nickname should be "Run- way," which sort of implies the opposite of "trying to jump his way out of it," as Steve Bauer stated in Friendly Fire (Cycle News, issue 6). It was when he didn't jump or couldn't clear a jump that he sustained some of his worst injuries. Some folks (AMA) need to cut him some slack. He's probably the best ambassa- dor for the sport and a great role model for young riders. Talk about perseverance and toughness. (Just Google the picture of his hand from two weeks ago and remember, he got back on and rode.) Yeah, he's had a couple run-ins in the past while trying to pull off some optimistic maneuvers, but who hasn't? Trey, just keep racing your ass off and keep giving 100% and just let the chips fall where they may. Your story is awe- some and it ain't finished yet. Howard Halterman Fox SX Coverage I gotta tell ya CN, Fox is blow- ing it when it comes to super- cross coverage. It stinks as Bob Hannah would say. I can't be the only fan ticked off about this: Here I am last weekend, stuffed in the big easy chair with my cervesa and nachos, ready to watch SD2 at 7 p.m. What the…..?! A dog show still on the FS1 channel at the start of supercross programming, 250 heat 1? Are you kidding me? Argghhh. I about blew a seal. "Program alert" go to FS2 for supercross coverage. Well, I don't get FS2 and my iPad sucks at streaming races, so I watched the dog show for 15 minutes. Hey don't get me wrong, I love the herders but I'll pass on the toy dogs. My cat is bigger than those little mutts. Finally, SX came on and Ralph says welcome race fans from watching the dog show— nice cover buddy. Thank God for Cycle News. You guys should run a sports network to show 'em how to take care of the fans—My Bro- cycle Channel James "Bonecrusher" Smith Arlington Supercross Great to see Ken Roczen coming back and turning up the heat. Did anyone see what looked like a Rick Johnson and David Bailey battle of styles between Roczen and Ryan Dungey? Neal Thomas Best race of the year. Ryan and Ken spanked all the other rac- ers bad. Very cool race! Martin Wolf Great race. With a decent points lead, Dungey had no reason to try a risky pass. RC won five supercross champion- ships by being smart and on more than a few occasions settled for second to Stewart and Reed in the same situation. Dungey was able to stay with Roczen and stay smooth, while Kenny had to hang it out to win. Was a great ride for both. Jerry Sequeira Yamaha XSR900 That [Yamaha XSR900] is awe- some! Can't wait to see one in person. The bike appears to be the total package! What a great price, too! Spike LJ Blutarski Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com.
