third in her first support race and
followed that up with a fourth
and two thirds. By the end of the
weekend she had finished all her
races, something David failed to
achieve in the main events, and
was second overall in the 250cc
Post Classic class.
"This is my sixth year of racing
in AHRMA," she said.
She credits David with getting
her interested in racing and was
at Phillip Island last year on a
Kawasaki A1R.

"I've got it to
1270cc by de-
stroking and boring
it, so the redline is
up to 7000 rpm (big
Sportsters usu-
ally redline at 5500
rpm)," he said.
FACEBOOK RACER
Chris Swallow thought he was
out of the event when his 500cc
TT Pantah Ducati blew the bot-
tom end. After a request for help
went out on Facebook, the team
drove up to Melbourne to buy a
350cc engine. Four hours later
Glyn Robinson had fitted the
race bike's barrels and heads
to the road bike's bottom end.
Swallow won a support race and
competed in all legs of the Inter-
national Challenge at a reliable
10,000 rpm.
All this effort isn't surprising
considering that Robinson used
to be a key technician for Steve
Wynne's Sports Motorcycles
operation.

HOLLYWOOD HARLEY
His sons might be Hollywood
stars but their father is still living
in the past.
Craig Hemsworth, father of
Aussie actors Chris and Liam,
was reliving the glory days of
60's American racing.
Back then Harley-Davidson
used a California University wind
tunnel to get their flathead Sport-
ster up to over 150 mph with
aerodynamics. Meanwhile drag
racers were developing mechan-
ical fuel injection. Using ele-
ments of both, Lewis McEwan
placed a Hilborn, mechanically
fuel-injected 1971 XRTT Sportster
race engine into a 1968 factory
"Lowboy" frame.
Hemsworth took on the Post
Classic Pre-1973 field, finishing
fourth overall behind three CB
Honda fours and a Moto Guzzi.
