Craig Ditchburn, UK, 115 TEAM REPORT CARD One rider was the difference between Team USA and Team Ireland finishing third overall: Paul Byrne. The Sydney-based Irishman, who is the newly crowned Australian Formula Oz Superbike champion, finished 9-7-5 in the first three races to accumulate 102 points. The tally would have been higher but he stalled his XR69 Suzuki on the start in Race Four. The result was Ireland finishing 69 points ahead of Team USA. The highest Team USA points scorer was Pat Mooney on 81 points. Here's a rundown on individual team members' efforts. >>PAT MOONEY NO 7 (Harris-Yamaha FJ): Race 1, 16 th ; Race 2, 15 th , Race 3, DNF; Race 4, 11 th . Igniter box and wiring loom glitches blighted his performance. "I'll be back," he said afterwards. >>NICK IENATSCH NO 64 (Spondon TZ): DNF- 23 rd -16 th -19 th . Clutch issues and other minor issues were a handicap. "What's not to love about this place?" he said. >>EIRIK NIELSEN NO 72 (CMR-Yamaha FJ, US version of an XR69): 23 rd -18 th -24 th -21 st . Consistency amid a "race within a race" back in the pack made him Team USA's second- highest point scorer. >>DANIAL "JOE" WEIR NO 16 (Suzuki GS): 28 th - 21 st -20 th -23 rd . Solid effort. >>DAVID CRUSSELL NO 17 (Yamaha TZ): 24 th - 24 th -17 th -DNF. The team captain found out that just one DNF can hurt the team's points tally. >>ROGER BARKER NO 45 (Kawasaki KZ): 27 th - 28 th -22 nd -DNF. See above. >>DAVID MOSS NO 223 (Yamaha TZ): 29 th -DNS- 23 rd -26 th . TZs are fickle beasts. >>RALPH HUDSON NO 35 (Yamaha FJ): 34 th - DNF-28 th -30 th . Still had fun. >>JON MUNNS NO 55 (CMR-Yamaha): DNS-30 th - DNS-DNS. Beautiful bike but a few terminal issues.
