"That first lap was kind of like
being in a pelaton; everyone was
kind of pacing, but we were defi-
nitely carrying a good momen-
tum," Webb said.
"Colton started taking off real
hard that second lap and put a
huge gap on us right off the bat.
Taylor and I made a mistake and
got off course and had to hop
back in and lost some time there.
"I pushed real hard and was
able to reel him in after a really
technical section; I think he didn't
expect anyone to be [so close]
there. I got past him and he got
past me again after the pit stop."
But Webb used that techni-
cal section to his advantage the
next time around and went into
the lead for good. "From there
I just hammered down; I just re-
ally wanted to put some ground
between us so he couldn't
