into a rhythm. Dalton was hang-
ing right on me the whole time,
so I couldn't ease up. My body
felt great, and I was able to push
it the whole way."
Shirey overcame a mechani-
cal issue while challenging
Thompson for the lead and then
charged forward to challenge
Bell late in the race. In the end,
he finished second, marking his
best WORCS Pro finish.
"I was trying to catch Blayne,
I made a mistake, my leg got
caught in the shroud and I
came to a complete stop," said
Shirey. "I ripped off the shroud
and started to make up some
ground. I came around and saw
Justin on the ground. From there
on I just sat behind Robby until
the end. I'm pretty stoked."
Eric Yorba appeared to have
the third spot wrapped up with
nearly a 30-second lead over
Udall on the white flag lap,
but he ran out of gas, which
dropped him off the podium
and back to a sixth place finish,
which opened the door for Udall.
Udall suffered serious arm
pump early in the race and came
from the back to get the last spot
on the podium. It marked his
second podium in WORCS com-
petition and his first since 2012.
"I finally got on the podium,"
said Udall. "I went from third
or fourth to last. I was cruis-
ing around with my hands off
the bars to get rid of my arm
pump. From there, I picked
up the pace and I could see I
was catching the leaders. That
was one hell of a racecourse. I
haven't taken that bad of a beat-
ing in a long time. I'm stoked
to get my first podium of the
year. Trust me, it will be one of
many."
Justin Wallis finished right
behind Udall in the fourth spot,
and Michael Del Fante rounded
out the Pro top five.
In Pro 2, Travis Damon won,
ahead of Logan Chambers and
Alex Dorsey. Chambers took the
holeshot, but Damon quickly
took the lead and cruised to vic-
tory. It marked Damon's second
straight podium after finishing
second in round one.
"I didn't get too great of a start,
so I had to set a great pace," said
Damon. "I had trouble getting my
pace back after I pitted, but I kept
it straight and kept going for it.
The course was gnarly, but there
were good lines and it smoothed
out through the weekend."
Chambers earned his second
consecutive podium after win-
ning in round one. This marked
just his second start in the class.
"I pulled the holeshot and tried
to break away, but this is only
second race on the 300," said
Chambers. "I have to give it up to
Travis. He ran a great race."
In Pro 2 Lites, Dante Oliveira
won his second straight race
ahead of Austin Serpa and Clay-
ton Hengeveld.
