ROYAL ENFIELD
HIMALAYAN VIDEO
BREAKS COVER
(AND FOOTPEG).
T
he Royal Enfield Himalayan, a 410cc
single-cylinder adventure bike destined
for the Indian market, has finally broken
cover in this promo video.
The video features Indian Dakar veteran
CS Santosh waxing lyrical about the new
machine, however at 1:53s, a small issue
was spotted by our eagle-eyed UK col-
leagues at Visordown.com, when Santosh
crests the same jump he'd done about 10 times
previously, only this time he breaks off the right
footpeg on landing.
How this managed to make it past the final cut
for the video, we will never know, but according
to Visordown, on Royal Enfield's YouTube page
comments section, RE says, "This testing proved
to us that if you land from a jump that's 6ft above
ground, the footpeg could break, so we made it
better and did it all over again and again before we
broke out with the #Himalayan." CN
