IN THE WIND P20 OREGON RIDER WINS LAWSUIT AGAINST KARATE COP O regon rider Justin Wilkens has won a $180,000 lawsuit against Oregon State Police Captain Rob Edwards for excessive force after Edwards rammed Wilkens off his Aprilia Tuono, kicked him in the chest causing a broken rib and fractured collarbone, and pulled a gun on him for speeding – an incident that was all caught on the officer's dashcam. In the video, Wilkens is seen passing Edwards' unmarked Camaro patrol car at high speed on the afternoon of August 3, 2012. Wilkens then makes a number of illegal maneuvers including speed- ing and passing other vehicles over by crossing double yellow lines. According to The Registered Guard, Edwards believed Wilkens was trying to elude him in the pursuit, but Edwards did not have his siren on (nor did he realize his dashcam was running), and when Wilkens did finally slow at the traffic lights, Edwards is seen ramming Wilkens and beginning his assault. Edwards' attorney in the trail argued unsuccessful- ly his client's brakes had faded, causing the collision. Following the collision Edwards is then seen kicking Wilkens with his weapon drawn, an incident Edwards' attorney again unsuccessfully argued could not be avoided as he "already had the muscles fired" in his leg. A jury of eight people awarded Wilkens $31,171 to cover medical bills and bike damage, $100,000 for pain and suffering and $50,000 in punitive damages. Check out the video right here. DUCATI DRAXTER CONCEPT UNVEILED D ucati's XDiavel cruiser has already been given a factory makeover, with Ducati Design Center's Advanced Design Area producing what it calls a "sports interpretation" of the machine in this bike named the draXter. The draXter is Ducati's version of a new-school drag racer, with design lines taken from early '50s and '60s straight line racers. The engine is largely stock, but the suspension and brakes have been taken directly from the 1299 Panigale superbike. A special '90' decal has been placed on the side of the machine, highlighting 90 years of Ducati in 2016. For those playing at home, Ducati did not start out making motorcycles when it was founded in 1926 – rather radio components – and did not produce its first bike until after WWII. Sadly, this is not going to be a production ma- chine (yet), but if enough people want the ma- chine, don't be surprised if a small, limited edition batch comes out of Bologna in the near future. Mean as hell – the draXter is yet another machine Ducati needs to build!
