VOL. 53 ISSUE 1 JANUARY 12, 2016 P23
said Vanscourt. "Maybe half-
way through the race, I started
seeing tracks again that were
really, really fresh and I got word
that the closest I was was about
a minute and a half behind so
pretty close to them. I had made
up some time, but the [tire in-
serts] got really soft on us so we
just kept on pushing as best as
we could."
The Reno Racing/IMS/
BTO Sports KX450F-mounted
duo of Chris Brown and Shane
Esposito charged hard to third
bike overall and first in Over 30
Pro with an unofficial 4:34:35,
a broken silencer robbing them
of crucial top speed. (Incredibly,
the winning Quad Pro team was
22 seconds quicker.)
After winning the 250cc Pro
division for the past few years,
Purvines Racing Beta's Curtis
Bradley and Jeremy Purvines
moved to Open Expert and
enjoyed a winning ride to fourth
bike overall in an unofficial
4:47:59 followed by another
Quad Pro and then Open Pros
Danny Cooper/ Jesse Canepa.
Open Expert runners-up Chris
Gerchman/Dakota Steffen,
300cc Expert winners Grady
LaCamp/Kyle Patridge/Pat-
rick Pico, Over 40 Pro winners
Alan Cameron/Chad Thornton/
Tony Zastrow, Open Pros Ricky
Dahlbert/Kyle Townsend and
Open Experts Eric Kirby/Zach-
ary Myers rounded out the top
10 bikes. CN
The popular Ironman Expert class saw Washington's David Lahn
run an impressive pace that unofficially put him among the faster
teams. As it was, he completed the two laps required of the solo
riders quicker than anyone else.
Despite a couple issues
(including a broken
silencer that robbed
them of valuable top
speed on the always
fast Parker course),
Shane Esposito
(shown) and Chris
Brown won Over 30 Pro
and claimed third bike
overall, unofficially.
