Mainly off-road, which I still enjoy, but is only half of the motorcycle news world story. On top of that, I read in issue number 50 that we may see a decline in the MotoGP series due to lack of American riders in the series. I do not believe that is an accurate statement, because much of the world is becoming more aware of and interested in the excitement and technology developed in that series. I also have to add that though I agree that Cameron Beaubier is one of our U.S. prospects for greatness on the world stage, and, especially as a friend of PJ Jacobsen and his father, Keith (a long time top-level American flat and dirt tracker himself), I am very surprised at the obvious lack of mentioning PJ as the one rider who is truly actually doing it right now on the world stage. Coming second in the World Supersport series this year is something no American has done before and it is obvi- ous he is still on his way to the top. Why so little coverage of his rise? I hope for more balance of coverage in the future. Andrew V. Nabagiez You're Welcome! Thanks for everything you do, Cycle News is the best. Robert Schumacher Kailub Russell: CN Rider Of The Year Definitely a worthy choice. Thanks for recognizing Kailub Russell as your rider of the year. Off-road racers are often overlooked by some of the higher-profile racers, but they are just as talented in their re- spective field as anyone else. Congratulations, Kailub, you deserve it. Roger Johnson Come you ding dongs, Kailub whatever his name is instead or Valentino Rossi or Ryan Dungey? Mox Moto Great choice! Robert T. Surprised with your end-of- the-year issue awarding Kailub Russell [Rider of the Year] and not much about Ryan Sipes being the first American rider in 103 years of ISDE to win the overall. Jon Vivian Not Surprised By Anderson I don't think Jason Ander- son's win surprised anyone in the know. I personally was surprised at how fast Ryan Dungey was after getting up. Cole Seeley surprised me because he is just getting back from injury. Eli Tomac did exactly what he needed to do but definitely showed some rust, he should be one to watch around midseason. Todd Dooley Jason was in the hunt last season. I think he just needed some more experience on the bike and some more staying power. Maybe he's found that with Aldon Baker on his side.
