KTM RC CUP CHAMPION
Gage McAllister is another one of the new breed of
renaissance riders who seem to excel in any type
of racing. The 20-year-old rider has not only raced
several different classes in road racing, as diverse
as Harley-Davidson XR12000 and Superstock 600,
he also won the AMA Supermoto Championship this
year and proved a solid flat tracker in the Super-
prestigio of the Americas.
So McAllister met with a little derision when he
showed up this year racing the KTM RC Cup. Some
people, primarily the parents and friends of his com-
petitors, argued that McAllister was too experienced
to race in the class designed for aspiring young
road racer, but by nearly anyone's definition, McAl-
lister fit that category and he used his experience
to win the first-year series. With a background as
diverse as his expect McAllister to be a rider many
team managers are looking at for the near future.
