JAKE GAGNE
SUPERSTOCK 1000 CHAMPION
If it has two wheels Jake Gagne will race it.
The 22-year-old from San Diego turned a lot
of heads when in the middle of the summer
he entered and qualified for a Lucas Oil AMA
Motocross National in Utah. At the end of the
season he was one of the fastest of the road
racers who participated in the Superprestigio
of the Americas flat track race. It harkened
back to the days of riders like Dick Mann and
Steve Wise who raced about every disci-
pline of motorcycle racing, often in the same
season.
Gagne also found time to excel in his
day job of racing for the RoadRace Factory
Yamaha squad and winning the MotoAmerica
Superstock 1000
Championship.
"I look at the
championship this
year as a continuation
of where I'm trying to
get to in my career,"
Gagne said of win-
ning the Superstock
1000 title in 2015. "I
hope to eventually
race in Superbike and
do well there and
then ultimately would
love to get a shot at
MotoGP."
Lofty goals, but one
that could be within
reach if Gagne's rising
trajectory continues
on its current path.
