IN THE WIND P52 AMA FLAT TRACK COMING TO COTA A MA Pro Racing and Team SMI announced that Circuit of the Americas will play host to AMA Pro Flat Track in 2016. The series will make its inaugural visit to the purpose-built Grand Prix facility on April 9, 2016, running in conjunction with the Grand Prix of the Americas. "I'm delighted that we are able to bring AMA Pro Flat Track racing to COTA, to complete the ultimate festive weekend of motorcycle sport," said Michael Lock, CEO of AMA Pro Racing. "Today's MotoGP stars are fascinated with our unique brand of rac- ing and the growing Superprestigio events in Las Vegas and Barcelona are testament to the wide ap- peal and recent interest in Pro Flat Track racing." Circuit of the Americas is no stranger to dirt track racing. The sport debuted at the Summer X Games in 2015, and many of AMA Pro Flat Track's top riders were there to put on a show for the ages. After a grueling battle, Kawasaki-mounted Bryan Smith took a dramatic victory. "We're excited to be part of what will be the greatest ever two-wheel racing competition," said Bobby Epstein, Chairman of the Circuit of the Americas. "With MotoGP, MotoAmerica and AMA Pro Flat Track running on the same weekend—at the same venue—it will be unbeatable entertain- ment." Additional details about the 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track round at Circuit of the Americas will be re- leased by event promoter Team SMI in the coming months. CN LEIB JOINS BLUE BUFFALO TEAM M ichael Leib is the latest rider to join the new BLUE Buffalo/Slater Skins/Herrera Ranch Yamaha Team for the 2016 Monster Energy Super- cross Series. Leib joins teammates Benny Bloss and Broc Schmelyun. Bloss will compete in the 250 East Series and Schmelyun in the 450 class. Leib will contest the 250 West Series. Larry Brooks will serve as the team's manager. Leib, who sat out most of 2015 with injuries, said, "I am beyond excited to be working with the entire BLUE Buffalo/Slater Skins Yamaha team for 2016. Working alongside people like Larry Brooks and many other people behind the scenes, mak- ing this thing come together, is something I am looking forward to doing. It has been a long 2015 season, I am ready to get back to racing and put myself where I believe I deserve to be." "I'm very happy with Michael Leib's progress in the last few weeks. He's adjusting well to the team and seems like the perfect fit," said Brooks. CN Michael Leib has joined the upstart BLUE Buffalo/Slater Skins/Herrera Ranch Yamaha Team for Supercross. The Circuit Of The Americas will host a round of the AMA Flat Track series in 2016.
