REDDING SURPRISES AT JEREZ
A
select few MotoGP teams
joined the World Superbike
stars at Jerez last week for their
final test before the enforced
winter break, with Pramac Duca-
ti's newly signed Scott Redding
pulling out a surprise by setting
the fastest time on the final day.
Redding set a blistering
1:38.9-second lap—only 0.2
seconds off what Jorge Lorenzo
managed in the race last year—
in only his second test on the
Pramac Ducati after switching
from the Estrella Galicia Honda.
"We did very well in the two
days and were able to lower the
time more than a second," Red-
ding said. "The feeling grows
run after run and also the tires
are going well. I feel I have a lot
of confidence with the bike. We
worked on the weight distribu-
tion by finding a nice rhythm.
I am very satisfied with these
tests."
Redding headed Reposol
Honda's Marc Marquez in the
timesheets as the former double
MotoGP World Champion con-
tinued his adaptation to the Mi-
chelin tires and Magnetti Marelli
control electronics, suffering
multiple falls including a massive
highside at the fast turn three.
Third went to Redding's
teammate Danilo Petrucci from
the official Ducati Team riders
Andrea Iannone and Andrea
Dovizioso, Dani Pedrosa, Hector
Barbera, Loris Baz and Yonny
Hernandez. The Movistar Ya-
maha and Tech3 teams did not
attend the test. CN
