CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Rossi has ensured MotoGP will be severely damaged when he retires and that is very sad." Nobody Is Innocent I read Michael Scott's article (Nobody Is Innocent, Novem- ber 24, issue 47) and I'd like to raise a question. After watching the Phil- lip Island race, the whole world, including this Valentino Rossi fan and I'm sure Michael himself, thought that we had just witnessed the best race of the year. Some called it the race of the decade. But where were all those who where crying foul now between the time the Australian race ended and the Sepang press confer- ence? Had there been foul play in Australia, which suppos- edly started the whole mess, wouldn't at least a few experts have picked up and comment- ed on it? It is my belief that Rossi threw psychological warfare into the mix to optimize his chances of title success, unfor- tunately it backfired on him. Michael is right—nobody is innocent. However some are guiltier than others. RedGrey More Nicky Hayden Details The Kentucky Kid 2.0 story (November 24, issue 47) was ambiguous at times. Here's one example, "...but he is not being paid to ride in World Superbike by American Honda, or any- thing of that kind." I'd like to know if Hayden is be- ing paid to ride or if he is only receiving product sponsorship. Additional details would be ap- preciated. Scott Turner Questionable Moves Sorry, Dan, (Voices, November 24, issue 47) but even though you have been following GP racing for so long, you must have missed the Motegi race in 2010. Valentino Rossi made more "questionable moves" on Jorge Lorenzo in that race than Marc Marquez made in Sepang this year. That was against a teammate (not much of a mate) who was trying to win the title, and Rossi was not in the battle for the title. It was a great effort by Rossi this year but his lack of outright pace cost him the title—simple as that. His words over the last three rounds have tarnished his image for anyone other than diehard fans and tarnished Marc's image forever for those that believe Rossi. By doing so, Rossi has ensured MotoGP will be severely damaged when he retires and that is very sad. Greg Byrnes Not Liking Opinions I always enjoy the coverage (Something Old, Something New, November 24, issue 47) and seeing the manufacturers latest offerings and concepts for the future. But maybe you should have categorized the article as an editorial rather than a feature story due to no shortage of opinion interjected by Jon Urry. Hard to believe Honda did not have the RC213V-S at Milan like they did at IMS Long Beach. Rob Valero Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com.
