in most fan's minds there's no
doubt he should have been on
the Superprestigio rider roster
Saturday night.
BROMELEY SCORES
FIRST GNC2 VICTORY
Davis Fisher had the GNC2
championship all nailed down
before he even started packing
for Vegas, but he still wanted to
make a good showing during
the Flat Track season finale on
Friday night and again on Satur-
day at the Superprestigio of the
Americas, but he failed to make
the main event on Friday for the
first time in 2015.
Fisher's night wasn't all that
bad, though, as he was pre-
sented the GNC2 champion-
ship number-one plate during
opening ceremonies as he was
greeted by thousands of fans in
attendance cheering his name.
ing Kopp before the Las Vegas
finale. He would've liked to race
in the Superprestigio of the
Americas on Saturday night and
as a former AMA GNC champ
one would think that courtesy
would have been extended
to him. Yet for some strange
reason the promoters decided
only to invite AMA GNC champs
from the past 10 years into the
Prestigio.
That rankled Kopp, so he
thought he'd do his best to do
an "in your face" move to the
organizers by earning an auto-
matic berth in the Superpresti-
gio, but that would mean he'd
have to win the season finale on
Friday night.
"Realistically I knew it was
a long, long shot," Kopp said.
"The best thing about my rac-
ing right now is I come here to
have fun and it really shows.
My results, even at a local level,
I'm not racing for a paycheck
anymore, not making a living do-
ing this. I'm here to have fun and
that's usually when you ride your
best. Second place, I'm super
happy."
Even at 46 Kopp said he
wouldn't rule out a select na-
tional here or there next season,
but he went on to say he was
satisfied with helping manage
Triumph's effort in flat track rac-
ing and is happy with his life and
isn't looking at all to come back
to racing full time.
One thing is for sure though;
Kopp still has it and served as
an inspiration for his dedication
only prove a point that he should
have been invited to the Super-
prestigio, but he also may have
put himself in the record books.
While the records aren't defini-
tive, it appears Kopp, at 46, may
just be the oldest rider ever to
score an AMA Pro Grand Na-
tional podium finish. It also may
be the first time a Husqvarna has
ever finished on a GNC1 podium.

the-scenes controversy involv-

ing gate, much to the delight of the
crowd. Baker then went out on the
restart and nearly won, but on the
last corner he and Sammy Halbert
got tangled and Wiles shot under-
neath to steal the win.
Dallas Daniels, of Matoon, Illinois,
won the American Supercamp Exhi-
bition race Friday night over Dawson
Schieffer and Ashton Yates. All
riders raced Yamaha TT-R125s and
