Who would
have thought
old bikes would
sell so well?
DUCATI
The Scrambler Effect
Ducati has had a tremen-
dous 2015 and the Bologna
factory has seen its sales
top 50,000 for the first time
in its history. The reason for
this increase? The Scram-
bler. Yes, the hipster pleas-
ing retro bike sold a stag-
gering 14,644 units last year
and helped boost Ducati's
sales by 23 percent, which
means it is no surprise
that two of the firm's new
models for 2016 are Scram-
bler based. The Flat Track
Pro is basically a styling
exercise and using the Full
Throttle as a base, Ducati
has added a few extras to
create a flat track version.
Arguably more interesting
is the introduction of the
Sixty2, which is a smaller
capacity Scrambler. Cur-
rently only available in one
version (this will change) it
uses a smaller 399cc V-twin
which makes 40 hp and
25 lb-ft of torque.
Thank God we don't get that horrid
muffler here in the States!
