ndian Motorcycles are continuing their
aggressive push further into the cruiser
market with the introduction of the Scout
Sixty, a smaller capacity version of the Scout
that was released earlier this year.
The Sixty uses the same chassis,
suspension and brake package as the larger
Scout, but comes with a smaller 60 cubic
inch engine compared to big bro's 69 cubes.
As such the Sixty punches out 65 lb-ft of
torque and 78 hp, pushing a dry weight of
542 pounds. It also sports a handy price
reduction, retailing for $8999 compared to
the Scout's $10,999.
The Scout Sixty has already seen the
welder of renowned bike customizer Roland
Sands, who has worked over five models
for the Super Hooligan class at the recently
held Superprestigio in Las Vegas. Indian has
seen the larger capacity Scout become very
popular with bike builders across the USA
and Europe, and is keen to push the Sixty
further in the customizing stakes.
"We expect the Scout Sixty to accelerate
the already unprecedented success we have
had with the new Scout platform," said Indian
Motorcycle Marketing Director Scott Meek.
"The custom community has really embraced
the Scout and we have experienced intense
enthusiasm from DIY customizers, dealers,
pro-builders and the aftermarket."
