XDiavel
Some will love this bike, others hate it, but
the XDiavel is certainly a machine to turn
heads and is Ducati's first feet-forward
cruiser. It uses the DVT engine with a belt
final drive (another Ducati first) in a stunning
looking Diavel. This is a premium product
and Ducati have spared no expense when
it comes to the styling, even going as far
as hiding the engine's water pipes behind
cases. There are two versions, a base and
high spec S model.
Ducati takes the cruiser world by the nuts.
About time!
Ducati's getting
dirty next year.
959 Panigale
This may sound strange, but due
to the new Euro 4 emissions
regulations coming into force, four
of Ducati's bikes were forced to
grow in capacity for 2016. Why?
Larger catalytic converters sap
power and you can't release an
updated model that is less pow-
erful than the outgoing one! The
new 959 Panigale gains a sharper
look to match the 1299 Panigale
and a 4mm lower swingarm pivot,
but the real news is the engine's
increase in capacity to 955cc.
Power is up by 6 percent to 157 hp
and torque boosted by 8 percent
to 79 lb-ft, but the really amusing
part is that European buyers get
the horrible twin-stacked exhaust
system in the pictures, while in
America, we get a lovely, neat,
under engine pipe as before! Just
like the Panigale, the Hypermo-
tard, Hyperstrada and Hypermo-
tard SP all increase in capacity
from to 821cc to 937cc with power
boosted to 113 hp and torque to
72 lb-ft.
Multistrada 1200 Enduro
At last, Ducati has built a proper off-road oriented Multi-
strada. The Multistrada 1200 Enduro takes the Multistrada
base, but adds 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel
to allow the fitment of proper knobby tires. The fuel tank's
capacity is 7.9 gal, a double sided swingarm replaces the
single sided unit and all the electronics have been adjust-
ed to deal with dirt riding. While the suspension is slightly
longer in its travel (seat height is now 870mm) it still has
electronically controlled damping and Ducati has even
re-designed the Multistrada's bodywork to make it harder
wearing. To go with the Enduro, Ducati also unveiled a
new Pikes Peak version of the Multistrada.
