CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R P6 MotoGP Mayhem Why would Valentino Rossi have even said anything about Phillip Island and Marc Mar- quez if there wasn't something to it? That's not his style. To all us mortals we could not see the subtleties of Mar- quez's behavior to know the difference unlike in Sepang. For someone at Rossi's level, who is intimate with Marquez's racing habits, it would be very easy to see a little 10th here and a little 10th there. Wonder what Andrea Iannone's take on the Phillip Island behavior is? Will he ever say? It's an easy yes or no answer. Could Ian- none have really passed both of them if Marquez didn't back off before Rossi passed him? If Honda is so righteous why don't they show us the data from Phillip Island? Not sharing it verifies Rossi's claim, no? John Welch So it seems we now have Mo- toGP of Nations and this year Spain won. George Marshall After reading what Mr. Naka- moto said in regards to his rider's [Marc Marquez] behav- ior at Valencia, I must ask: How stupid do you think we are? This just emphasizes their treatment of Nicky Haden after he won for them. I hate to say "never," but I will never purchase a Honda or Repsol product ever again. Rob Overal Did Michael Scott actually watch the race, or just simply phone in his article? I never expected Rossi to achieve the championship from the back row, but, true to legend, his ride was amazing, as he slashed through most of the field. Clearly Marquez was never go- ing to allow whatever condition may prevail to allow Rossi into the necessary position. What is actually unac- ceptable is the way Marquez and Honda's executive vice president have dishonored the sport, and HRC, with their lies. Marquez clearly gave the win to Jorge Lorenzo, on a Yamaha! And that is okay with Honda? Even the obviously innocent Pedrosa was victim to Marquez' blocking when he was significantly faster than both Lorenzo and Marquez. Yes, Lorenzo won seven races, though his consistency was weaker than Rossi's, so Lorenzo is a worthy cham- pion, but there shall always be an asterisk attached to the record for anyone who actually watched (repeatedly) the "low- lights" of this race. Eric P. Maurer I've been reading Michael Scott since his first article in Cycle News. Once again, he has solidified his stature as a true honest traditional journalist utilizing the established proto- cols once upon a time taught in institutions of higher learning, case in point, his work on the final three rounds of the 2015 MotoGP Championship. While some succumbed to the Rossi X-Files plot themes, Scott held fast to the facts in the context of what happened on the track, past Rossi's off-track tactics and the big picture in regard to the sport itself. Good job, Michael. Personally, I still believe Rossi is the best to ever sling a leg over a GP bike, but he has lost some of his luster in my mind. Like Michael Schumacher before him, the aging champion took to tactics unbecoming of his legacy to try and maintain his waning alpha dog status. He tried to dig into his proven bag of tricks and pull out a "Gibernau" but the circum- stances were not the same. These Spaniards, Marquez and Lorenzo, are no Gibernau! Denis A. Torres MotoGP 2015 will go down as the season that separated fans of Grand Prix racing from fanatics of Valentino Rossi. I am honestly in disbelief at the number of people who think Marc Marquez cost Rossi the title. Seriously? If so many "Marquez clearly gave the win to Jorge Lorenzo, on a Yamaha! And that is okay with Honda?"
