R
ockstar Energy Husqvar-
na's Colton Haaker did not
enjoy a perfect evening at
round eight of the 2015 GEICO
AMA EnduroCross Series inside
the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa,
Idaho. Early on it seemed as if
it really wasn't his night. Perfec-
tion, however, is just what he
needed to blitz to a heat race
win and follow that up with an
unmatchable evening Hot Lap—
each generating a precious
single championship bonus
point.
Instead, Haaker took an
uncharacteristic trip to the LCQ
where he qualified for the main
event after numerous mistakes
and a firewood pile from hell
kept him off the pace in his heat
race. As a result, he wasn't even
eligible to compete for the only
other extra point available—the
evening Hot Lap.
Perfect Haaker was not. But
as he picked his bike up off the
dirt after the first turn and felt the
entire field in the Pro Main roar
away down the arena, perfection
stopped being important and he
put an all-out charge against the
entire Pro field en route to his
third victory of the season.
Yes, he started the main event
in last place, too. It really wasn't
Haaker's night—until the packed
house in Idaho went crazy
watching him race to victory.
