CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "We are talking about someone who can brake from 200+ mph, sliding sideways and miss the guy next to him by inches." More On Rossi/ Marquez I remember many years ago watching Kenny Roberts kick a slower rider whose lines were a little erratic and were in his way going between the old turn's two and three at Laguna Seca. Slow motion shows that Valentino Rossi and Marc Mar- quez were slowed to the same speed when you can see Mar- quez accelerate and lean into Rossi, which is what caused the contact. Not saying Rossi didn't do anything wrong, but Marquez could have avoided the contact if he wanted to. We are talking about someone who can brake from 200+ mph, slid- ing sideways and miss the guy next to him by inches. Marquez has also knocked down slower riders when he was trying to get to the front after a bad start at much higher speeds than he and Rossi were going, not to mention the Dani Pedrosa crash because his contact tore off his wheel speed sensor. Paul Trautman As unfair as all of this is, we all have to accept the ruling and move on. Life isn't fair some- times. Regardless of who wins the championship, Rossi still remains the greatest rider who will ever walk this planet. As for myself and the rest of Rossi fans, we must support our rider and have faith he will prevail. Jacques Simms What gets me is Marquez obviously was messing with Rossi, he has never ridden like that before. And that is said to be legal. Yet Rossi teaches Marquez a little lesson about respecting the title contenders during a championship fight and gets penalized. This will haunt and follow Marquez his entire career—the little brat that got away with fixing a champi- onship. Joe Franceschi Welcome Back Yamaha It's great to see Yamaha back with a factory-backed effort in World Superbike. I hope that it eventually leads to an Ameri- can Superbike champion and Cameron Beaubier getting to race in that series on a Yamaha as well. Lance Holst Excellent to see Yamaha back, but I would have loved to see an American on one of the bikes. Jim Clausen Liking Bonnies I very much like the new Tri- umphs, especially the "Street Twin," even more than the new Ducati Scramblers. This gas tank looks better, but I don't understand why Triumph doesn't style their tanks to look more like those beautiful ones from late '60s. I think that would make them pretty much irresistible.
