Our cover story focused on attempts by the government to attack motorcy-
clists… We covered the St. Louis round of the Trans AMA MX Series where
Roger DeCoster won both International motos over Gerrit Wolsink and
Tony DiStefano. Jimmy Ellis was the winner of the 250cc Support class
over Mike Runyard and Buck Murphy… We showed you a spy photo of
one of 20 prototype dirt track bikes that
Husqvarna built.
30 Years Ago November 13, 1985
We celebrated 100 years of motorcycling, which officially began on
November 10. One of the bikes we featured on the cover was "the first bike
ever," the 1885 Daimier/Maybach. We also showed you some historic
bikes from the 100 Jahre Motorrad Exhibition from Munich, Germany, and
talked about the evolution of the motorcycle... We covered Terry Cunning-
ham's victories at the Little Burr National Enduro in Ohio and the Delaware
State Championship… We also covered the
motocross reunion race in Belgium, which
Pierre Karsmakers won.

Juha Salminen capped off the 2005 GNCC Series at the Ironman GNCC
with his ninth win of the season. Russell Pearson also got a piece of the
cover for clinching the AMA Hare & Hound National Championship… We
got to ride the latest off-road models from Husqvarna… Our feature story of
the week was a riding tour of China, and we also covered the Tokyo Motor
Show… We covered the Suzuki Cup road race at Braselton, Georgia, as
well as the Eddie Mulder West Coast Vintage Dirt Track Series round
from Willow Springs.

Troy Corser made front-page news for winning the World Superbike round
at Phillip Island, and Mick Doohan found a spot on the cover to accompany
our interview with the World Champ. We also told you what it was like to ride
Doohan's bike, the Honda NSR500… Fred Merkel announced his early
retirement from racing… We compared the BMW R1100RT to the Honda
ST1100… We also tested the 1996 Honda CR250R motocrosser… Another
National Hare & Hound and another win by
Kawasaki's Ty Davis.
