IN THE WIND P30 HUTCHINSON SIGNS FOR TYCO BMW E leven-time Isle of Man TT victor Ian Hutchinson has signed to ride for the powerhouse Tyco BMW outfit for the 2016 international road races at the North West 200, Isle of Man TT and Ulster Grand Prix. Talking to BBC Sport, the "Bingley Bullet," will have his final ride on the PBM Kawasaki at the upcoming Macau Grand Prix before switching to Tyco BMW for the 2016 season in place of the departing William Dunlop. "We've been in negotiations for a couple of months, but I've always been serious about com- ing to the Tyco BMW team for next year," said Hutchinson. "After pretty much four years away from the sport I now need a bit of consis- tency. BMW is a huge brand and along with Philip Neill at TAS, they have shown how much they want to be involved with me for next season." Hutchinson caused a sensation by sealing a hat trick of victories in the Supersport and Superstock races at the Isle of Man TT races this year, following a four-year hiatus due to a severely broken left leg that almost ended his career in 2010. CN Ian Hutchinson will ride for the Tyco BMW team. According to a family friend, Dan and his wife Vickie were awakened by the smell of smoke around 4-5 a.m. Dan man- aged to get both Vickie and his mother, Betty, to safety but were unable to save their 15-plus cats and dogs, that the family took in from a shelter. Also lost was Mahony's large photo archive. "We have nothing," Vickie said. "I did not even get my purse. Once I got to my feet, the smoke was so bad I was hav- ing trouble breathing, Dan has second and third degree burns on his hands and feet as he tried to get us out to safety. I grabbed the keys off the wall, moved the cars and next I was at the hospital. "You hear people say we got out with clothes on our backs— that was it, nothing else, nothing." The Red Cross has stepped in provided a temporary place for the Mahonys to stay. The family is asking that if you have ever bought a photo from them, please donate what you can. The Mahonys can be con- tacted at the Buffalo Inn & Suites in Buffalo, Missouri, or you can send cards and money to Dan and Vickie Mahony at P.O. Box 139, Urbana, Missouri, 65767.
