IN THE WIND P26 MULTISTRADA IN FOR RECALL D ucati's Multistrada 1200 and 1200 S has come in for a recall, with 869 units affected. The recall relates to a kickstand that could break due to it being of incorrect length, meaning the bike will fall over and that pretty red paint will scratch up. Ducati North America will be notifying all the affected custom- ers and booking them in for replacement kickstands, but if you want to investigate it further, you can call Ducati at 800-231-6696. The recall number is RCL-15-003. CN A faulty kickstand means a recall for the Ducati Multistrada. NC700X, CB500X COME IN FOR A MAKEOVER H onda's junior adventure bikes, the NC700X and CB500X, will both come in for some styling and slight mechani- cal updates for 2016. The 700, aside from new bodywork, will get a 70mm taller screen, a redesigned muffler and increased luggage capacity as well as Honda's optional Dual Clutch Technology, a system that now houses three individual sub-modes within its sport mode. As for the 500, it gets a new LED tail- light and headlight, the 700's larger screen and a hinged fuel cap. There's also preload adjustability on the fork, and a span adjust- able front brake lever. Both bikes are due to appear at the Tokyo Motor Show this November. CN Honda's updated NC700X and CB500X will be revealed at the Tokyo Motorshow next month. NORTON'S V4 IN THE WORKS T he eagerly anticipated 1200cc, 200 horsepower Norton V4 is reportedly taking shape at the company's factory headquarters in the UK. The new machine has been code-named P94 (Norton has 94 wins at the Isle of Man TT), and is partly the result of a $4.1 million government grant designed to advance the Brit- ish engineering industry. This includes not just the V4 but also a parallel-twin 650 aimed at the Kawasaki Ninja 650/Yamaha FZ-07 and a new factory. The V4 will be a bespoke machine and won't go head-to-head with bikes like the new Yamaha YZF-R1 and Ducati Panigale due to the 1200cc capacity. It will also spawn an ex- clusive, limited edition machine similar to the R1M. The standard road machine will be graced with all the trim- mingsā€”ABS, traction control, anti-wheelie and launch control, housed in a chassis designed by renowned chassis engineers, Spondon (whom Norton also owns). At this stage, it's unlikely we'll see any form of prototype machine until well into next year, with a production machine not expected until 2017. CN Norton's new V4 is taking shape.
