on the 2015 AMSOIL Grand
National Cross Country Series
schedule, Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna's Josh Strang is
hitting top stride, as he claimed
his second win of the year at the
ITP Powerline Park GNCC in St.
Clairsville, Ohio, October 18.
Strang put himself in a good
position right from the start, so
when early leader Ryan Sipes
had a confrontation with a hill,
he was right there to pounce.
The Aussie took the lead on lap
two and never looked back, tak-
ing the win with room to spare
over N-Fab AmPro Yamaha's
Grant Baylor.
"It's always good to race
someone until the finish, but it's
also good just to have a gap at
the end of the race like today,"
said Strang. "After Sipes missed
the hill climb I was able to pass
him, and I was able to get a gap
between us and maintain it."
Baylor spent much of the
first half of the race battling with
JCR Honda's Chris Bach and
Beta Racing's Cory Buttrick
before breaking away and taking
second place for the second
time in a row and positioning
himself firmly in second place in
the championship with one race
to go.
Baylor's teammate Jordan
Ashburn completed the ITP Pow-
erline podium. Ashburn was the
quickest out of the gate, captur-
ing the $250 All Balls Racing
XC1 Holeshot Award before
making a small bobble that give
Sipes the early lead. He would
later give way to both Strang and
Baylor before coming out on top
of a three-way battle with Bach
and Buttrick.
"I really wanted a good start
