have its own jewel—the Superprestigio
of the Americas. The exhibition event is
set to immediately follow the AMA Pro
Flat Track Season finale in a two-night
event in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena,
November 20.
Well-known Superbike and flat track
promoter Steve McLaughlin, who also
works as a consultant for AMA Pro Rac-
ing, is promoting the Superprestigio of
the Americas. His company, SMI, has
brought in a guy that knows a thing or
two about dirt track—seven-time Grand
National Champion Chris Carr—to help
organize the Superprestigio of the
Americas.
"I was approached by Steve late last
year," Carr said about how his involve-
ment with Superprestigio started. "He
asked me if I was interested in going
