Rather than going all out and making ground-breaking changes, Big Red chose to instead make smaller, but some of them significant, updates to its 2016 CRF250R, a bike that hasn't taken top honors in our annual Shootouts lately but is still one of our favorite "small"-bore four-stroke motocrossers because of its great chas- sis, plush suspension and overall gentle mannerisms. The Honda is easy and fun to ride. However, the CRF250R has been criticized, and rightly so, as of late for lack- ing that "killer" motor which is so important in the 250F class, where many rid- ers can actually utilize just about every pony a 250F can deliver at least once or twice around the track.
