"We ended up in a big battle,
and it's a shame that we were
so far back," said the American.
"Because there was some good
racing. I was fighting with Eu-
gene [Laverty] at the end, and I
actually got in front of him late on
at one place, but then he came
past me at turn eight. We had
a little contact and I went wide,
losing a little time. There were a
couple of positives to take from
the race. The bike is working
well. My thumb didn't make
things easy this weekend. We're
going to get it X-rayed to make
sure nothing moved, and as long
as that's the case I'll be okay
and hopefully I will be better for
Japan."
Laverty, Vinales, Bradl's team-
mate Alvaro Bautista, American
Nicky Hayden on the other
Aspar Honda, CWM Honda's
Jack Miller, Avintia Ducati's Mike
di Meglio and Forward Yamaha's
Loris Baz.
More sorting out by the end
as the tires went off and the
going got tougher. Bautista took
13th place ahead of first-time top
Open finisher Laverty by half a
second, while teammate Hayden
took the last point less than a
tenth behind.
The war for the title wages on with
teammates Rossi (left) and Lorenzo
(right) separated by 14 points with
four rounds left.
