VOL. 52 ISSUE 39 SEPTEMBER 29, 2015 P67 DYNO DOESN'T LIE. T he Cycle News dyno got a solid working out in this test, and to no one's surprise, showed the belting midrange of the KTM (top orange line) over everything else on test. From 5000 rpm to 9000 rpm the Austrian bike simply stomps everything in the torque department, but does run out a bit early as the BMW (light blue) and the Aprilia (red) take over. The Kawasaki (green) falls off too early to challenge for outright torque honors, but is equal to the top two up to 7200 rpm. The BMW and Aprilia are almost neck and neck for the entire run, producing nearly identical power and torque numbers and curves. This goes to show how nice and smooth that Italian V-four is on the road compared to the much vibier inline BMW. The Suzuki is the quiet achiever, cruising just under the Aprilia, BMW and KTM in both power and torque, but it does have a weapon up its sleeve in how flat the curves are. Check out our video here to see and hear these machines for yourself!
