for Lucas Oil Buell's Hector
Arana Jr. right now would be a
big understatement. Just five
days after getting engaged to
his longtime girlfriend, Nicole,
Arana Jr. won his 11th NHRA
national event when he claimed
a win at the AAA Insurance
Midwest Nationals in St. Louis.
To top it off, Arana Jr. raced his
father, Hector Sr. in the final
round. In a great side-by-side
race, the younger Arana pre-
vailed 6.86 to a close 6.93.
"This has been a great week;
I don't know if I could ask for
anything more," Arana Jr. said.
"After getting engaged, this win
is just icing on the cake. After
I watched my dad beat Chip
Ellis in the semi finals, I said to
myself, 'I have to win' so we can
both be in the final round and
