ust a few rambling thoughts
about the MXGP of the USA
today at Glen Helen Race-
way. Normally, I'd try to develop
a cohesive train of thought that
would hopefully reach a conclu-
sion, but not tonight. My brain
is officially mush, after having
been baked, not fried, today in
the hills above San Bernardino.
Here goes…
Attendance this year was
much improved over 2010 and
2011, but still far from where it
needs to be to ensure solvency
and the future of GPs here. That
said, Guiseppe Luongo and Bud
Feldkamp looked like old pals as
they joked around at the post-
race press conference, which is
a good sign.
If you consider yourself a fan
of motocross, or of racing in
general, and you didn't make it
out there to support the event,
you kind of suck. I say that as
I would to a close friend. Don't
get me wrong, I understand that
it was brutally hot and you'd have
to get up off the couch and actu-
ally drive somewhere, but you
still suck.
Newly crowned 2015 MX1
World Champion, Romain Febvre,
is the real deal. He did what he's
been doing all season long: Get
on the bike, dump the clutch, go
faster for longer than everyone
else, lather, rinse, repeat. He
gained confidence with each win
and by the time his juggernaut
plowed through SoCal noth-
ing could have stopped him.
He worked his way past half the
pack both motos, which was not
unusual for him. If you stopped
paying attention to the GPs after
Villopoto's butt plant, do yourself
a favor and go watch the videos
at www.mxgp-tv.com. Time after
time, Febvre worked his way up
