P138 40 Years Ago September 30, 1975 Jay Springsteen and Gary Scott were pictured on the cover 40 years ago from the San Jose Mile. Rex Beauchamp, however, won the race, but Scott came away with the 1975 GNC number-one plate… More than 2500 riders packed the Southern California desert for the Hook and Ladder Enduro, an event organized by firemen to benefit a local hospital burn ward… We tested the latest Swedish-born 125 CR motocrosser from Husqvarna and said it was one of the best handling bikes in the world. 10 Years Ago September 28, 2005 Lori Capirossi made the cover for winning the Japan MotoGP in Motegi. It was Ducati's first MotoGP win of the year… We reported on the passing of KTM North America President Rod Bush… The Grand Prix of Ireland was won by Stefan Everts, but Mike and Jeff Alessi were impressive in the MX2 division… We tested Kawasaki's first "purebred" KX250F four-stroke… Kurt Caselli grabbed another win in the WORCS Series, this time at Utah's Bull Hollow MX; Nathan Woods was second. Team Belgium took the win, but it was close. Marnicq Bervoets, Joel Smets and Stefan Everts edged out Team USA's Steve Lamson, Jeff Emig and Ryan Hughes by one point… We covered the inaugural running of the Rossberg Half Mile in Ohio, won by Scott Parker… Luca Cadalora won the Brazilian Grand Prix, but Max Biaggi won the championship… We tested the new BMW R110RT.
