Alldredge gave a valiant effort.
Alldredge was impressive
in the first moto, catching and
passing McElrath for second,
but a get-together with fellow
Kawasaki rider Max Anstie at the
bottom of a downhill on the first
lap of the second moto ended
any chance of an all-American
podium.
"It was cool to get a win,
and good for the team, plus it's
something for the resume," Nel-
son said. "It's a cool event, I like
the way it was run; everything
was organized, and it was awe-
some. It's a lot more riding than
we usually have, so conserving
energy was important." Nelson
also made it a point to thank his

Coldenhoff was one of the many
riders who struggled with the heat.
He became ill after Saturday's quali-
fying moto and wasn't feeling 100
percent on Sunday, but the Dutch-
man pulled off a respectable fifth
overall in MXGP class nonetheless.
"Not so bad today," Coldenhoff said.
"I got so sick yesterday and still
wasn't feeling so great. I got tired
early out there but it looks like I am a
good survivor! I think I was the third-
best European both times. It was a
good way to end the season and I've
finished eighth in the championship.
It has been a great year. I struggled a
bit in the beginning but really showed
my potential later on. My goal has
been achieved and I'm pretty happy."
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Jason
Anderson pulled out of the second
moto most likely because of the
heat. The team's goal was to finish
out the weekend on the MXGP po-
dium and after a fourth-place finish
in the first moto that was very much
a reality, but when he tipped over
in the second moto and was out of
podium reach and was feeling dizzy,
the team decided to play it safe and
bring Anderson back into the pits. "I
had a couple long days and ended
up with a decent first moto consider-
ing I came from behind," Anderson
said. "I came from behind again in
the second moto and decided to
conserve energy. I played it a little
safe because I'm trying to get ready
for Monster Cup, but it was a great
day and I'm glad I got to experience
it."
