MOTOCROSS FIM MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL ROUND / SEPTEMBER 19-20, 2015 GLEN HELEN RACEWAY / SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA P78 T he MXGP of the United States at Glen Helen Raceway was hot, both figuratively and literally. With temperatures creeping passed the 100-degree mark, the riders of the MXGP series, as well as the local racers, were certainly tested after a long 18-round series (the longest in MXGP history) that bounced around all over the globe since April, cul- minating on a hot, sunny and dry September day in the foothills of Southern California. The racing action was just as intense as the heat, especially if your name ended in Febvre, Grant, Webb or Cairoli. The rider who passed the test best was the Frenchman, Romain Febvre, who had al- ready clinched the 2015 MXGP (450cc) World title three rounds earlier. Despite not having ever before ridden the Glen Helen course, with its unique, mas- sive downhills and uphills and banked first turn, and not being used to the blazing heat, Febvre seemed to only get better as the motos wore on. Febvre was just plain impres- sive. The friendly and likable 23-year-old rider of the Yamaha Factory Racing/Yamalube Team came from behind in both mo- tos, winning the first after heated exchanges with former World GAJSER FEBVR CONQUERED
