CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "It will just be huge if Yamaha gives Cameron Beaubier a slot in World Superbike or World Supersport next year." The Ridge I read the latest article on Mo- toAmerica's last event at New Jersey and the lament of losing Indy. There was mention of Mo- toAmerica looking at the Pacific NW for a venue. I nominate The Ridge in Shelton, Washington. Although a small town and the infrastructure is not "big city," the passion of the locals and principles that brought about that great track deserves a hard look as a place/home for MotoAmerica in the future. The local club racing scene, lo- cal dealers and sponsors have embraced the track as a terrific motorcycle racing facility and layout. I know personal friends who have worked for decades to get this off the ground, so to have a national-caliber event would be a culmination of ev- eryone's efforts and dedication to get that track built. I hope KRAVE, Rainey and Askland will consider The Ridge as a viable venue for MotoAmerica. John A. Stockman Funny Fork Great tech article by Alan Cathcart on the Motoinno TS3 FFE (Funny Front End)! But no mention of Tony Foale? I'm shocked. Cheers! Vic Plichota Cameron Beaubier It will just be huge if Yamaha gives Cameron Beaubier a slot in World Superbike or World Supersport next year. It would be ever huger if Cameron was next to Nicky. When I hear Me- landri's name associated with the World Superbike effort, I just want to vomit. Bob Close There have been rumors of Yamaha entering World Super- bike again and this young man is the one who should lead the charge. I hope we don't see him back in AMA next year. It's time to promote these riders to the next level. Jim Clausen Loud Pipes Wow. You've printed letter number two calling others and myself the scourge of the mo- torcycling community because we have loud pipes on our bikes. Well done. Yes we're the wild bunch all right and should be driven out of town on a rail. When I bought my S4RS it came with a stock exhaust. It sounded boring. I replaced it with a Full Arrow system and had the ECU re-mapped. Guess what? Horsepower went up and so did the decibel level. It sounds bitchin' like a proper Ducati should. These whiners sound like your typical closed-minded not-in-my-backyard types. Do I race up and down my neigh- borhood street like a ya-who? No. Do I open it up when I'm in the canyons? Yes. Does the sound of a 90-degree twin with a high performance exhaust and a dry clutch make me feel good? Yes. Live and let live. We're not all going to agree on everything, but these complain- ers should lighten up. Christian Rice Thomas Covington Way to go Thomas!
