VOL. 52 ISSUE 38 SEPTEMBER 22, 2015 P115 races on his Don's Kawasaki. In addition to the promise shown by the new Yamaha, Cory Texter has been outstand- ing on his freshly-minted Kawa- saki Vulcan S-based machine. Texter scored his first career GNC1 heat race win on the bike and finished a solid seventh in the main. Others in the top 10 included TT and short track specialist Henry Wiles, taking sixth on the Zanotti Harley-Davidson. Mees, as previously mentioned, was eighth and USC/Hart Racing Kawasaki's Briar Bauman and Myers Motorsports Kawasaki Chad Cose finished ninth and 10 th , respectively. It marked just the second top-10 finish of the season for Cose. CN The night was also a good one for rookies and new bikes. First-year GNC1 riders Dominic Colindres and Jarod Vanderkooi finished fourth and fifth respec- tively. Colindres is proving that the Yamaha FZ-07, built by Hall of Famer Babe DeMay, serves as a great platform for a Grand National flat track bike. Colin- dres won his heat race as well. Vanderkooi continues to show he's on the cusp of becoming a podium finisher, taking his second top-five in the last three Briefly... stown before it rained and I was there a few other times, but had some bad luck. It's a proud and happy moment for sure." It was a long road to a national num- ber for Jason Isennock. Getting in the main may have prolonged the 29-year-old from Timonium, Mary- land's, racing career. "I'm number 30S and I always said if I still had the S on my number plate when I turned 30 I was going to retire. Now I guess I'm going to have to race another 10 years." Isennock finished 15th. This is Isennock's second run at trying to qualify for a Grand National. He first tried about 10 years ago, then got away from racing for a while and came back in the GNC2 class. Isen- nock won the GNC2 national at Hag- erstown in 2013 before coming back to GNC1 last season. Two of the newest motorcycles in AMA Pro Flat Track earned first-row starts at Delmar—Cory Texter's Kawasaki Vulcan S-based machine (65) and the Babe DeMay Yamaha ridden by Dominic Colindres (66Y).
