Gresini Moto3 Honda's Enea
Bastianini took his first win, pole posi-
tion on Saturday and a million happy
memories at his home Grand Prix. He
got the massive crowd on its feet early
as he led the first three laps, and then
finally rode a tough last lap to make
it certain—by only .037 of a second—
from Portuguese rider, Miguel Oliveira
on the Red Bull KTM Ajo.
Another home runner and Honda
rider went third, with Niccolo Antonelli
on the Ongetta-Rivacold Honda deliv-
ering on his pre-race promise.

Bull KTM Ajo made it a good day for
KTM, as he completed a podium fight
that started with seven leading riders.
It was a classic Moto3 battle, a roll-
ing exercise in overtaking, slipstream-
ing and simple brinksmanship into the
fast rights from the Curvone, and then
cheeky block passes into the slow
hairpin at Carro. The Moto3 leaders
threw tactics away to try and stay in
leading contention, whatever the price.
Two Leopards stalked the leading
riders at the beginning. Efren Vazquez
on the Leopard Racing Honda was,
however, to crash on lap 15.
His teammate and runaway cham-
pionship leader Danny Kent ended up
farther from the podium than his third
place qualifying position had suggest-
