IN THE WIND P42 because he always did such a great job and was willing to work with us, but I think fans would come regardless if Americans are in the championship. At the same time Dorna is also very interested in seeing MotoAmerica be successful. They know that for the future health of MotoGP it's important to have American riders involved." When asked if any other motorcycle racing might come to the Speedway, Boles said that would take some study. "Dorna runs World Superbike as well, so there were some discussions of that series," Boles said. "But that would take us talk- ing to our fans and sponsors to see if they would support World Superbike as they did MotoGP. We would have to talk with the manufacturers, who have been big supporters of MotoGP, to see if they would have that same level of support for a World Superbike event. It would take a level of research that if we got positive re- sponses could see World Super- bike come to Indianapolis in the future, but it's certainly nothing we're considering for 2016." For Jorge Lorenzo the removal of the Indy round may have been inevitable, but he still feels like a loss to the series. "I think that all the decisions to be away from a very important country like the USA is not good for our sport, but I don't know the reasons," Lorenzo said. "So we will have only one race in the U.S., in Austin. I would prefer to race two races in this country but Dorna must have their reasons to not continue with Indy." For American Nicky Hayden it's a big loss. "It is a shame be- cause Indy made some changes and the city, I think, liked the race," said Hayden. "I think it was a nice event. Obviously I am biased as I live three hours from there, but it was a fun event. They had the dirt track and a lot of stuff going on. I can under- stand that two races in America, the market is just not that big for MotoGP. The TV is not great. It is a shame but hopefully maybe it can come back at some time." Larry Lawrence PROJECT 2&4 LIVES! L ast week we bought you Honda's tiny teaser im- age of their Project 2&4 machine. A collaboration between the company's car and bike wings, Project 2&4 was officially made public with the release of full body images last week, ahead of its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week. Designed to incorporate the best experiences of both car driving and motorcycle riding, Proj- ect 2&4 is rumored to be powered by the same RC213V-S engine found in the company's made- for-the-public MotoGP replica, which fell flat on its face when it was made public and the U.S. ver- sion would only have just over 100 horsepower. That's hopefully not the case with Project 2&4, but at this stage, that's just what it is – a project – as no plans have been forthcoming on if Honda will ever put this crazed machine into production. Honda claims the car weighs just 892 pounds − less than a Gold Wing − with smaller dimen- sions than an Ariel Atom. And if Honda gives the car its full power capacity, expect at least "212 horsepower" at the wheels. Design-wise, Project 2&4 draws inspiration from the company's RA272 Formula One car of 1965 − the V12 monster driven by American legend Richie Ginther to Honda's first Formula One victory at that year's Mexican Grand Prix. Interestingly, the "sidecar" seating position evokes memories of Smokey Yunick's 1964 Indy racer and is minus a driver door, which Honda says evokes "the freedom of a motorcycle." CN Hondas Project 2&4 machine is taking form.
