ate and advanced groups, at which
point you've got an hour or so of free
riding time before the all-important
Superpole. This is where the single
indoor and two outdoor circuits are
linked and each student gets a fly-
ing lap to set a benchmark time. It
serves as testament to the instructors
and the curriculum that some riders
improved up to 30 seconds from their
last Superpole lap on the final day of
training.
Rising early the following day, you'll
get some breakfast into you, then it's
straight out onto the bike for three
hours of drills that include tight 90-de-
gree turns using the rear brake, drag
racing and stopping in a designated
box (this is awesome fun), as well as
one-on-one races designed to use
the learned cornering braking skills,
plus an old favorite of instructors the
world over, the slow race.
